Baker and Baker Recruitment are representing a client in the Warwickshire region of the UK who are looking for an Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) to join their team on a permanent basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Utilising state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop and prototype transmission, driveline, and actuation systems

  • Helping to combine and develop new techniques and analysis methods for use within the company

  • Responsible for the delivery of technical work within projects of all sizes, working independently and as part of teams

  • Applying your existing experience in specifying materials, processes, and design applicable for the function of the components

  • Engineering through design tools, calculations, analysis, simulation, drawings, and technical reporting

  • Managing your own workload and small projects

  • Undertaking work with a high level of autonomy and communicating effectively throughout the business

  • Supporting technical capability initiatives within the Mechanical Engineering function

  • A natural collaborator, able to build and manage effective working relationships with your direct team, colleagues, and customers

SKILLS REQUIRED


  • Degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline to 2:1 or above OR equivalent demonstrable experience

  • Experience in automotive, transmission, or precision engineering design or analysis

  • An aptitude for solving engineering problems, and experience in finding supporting resources

  • Exposure to some of the key software packages within drivetrain engineering (For Example SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, Catia)

  • Able to follow key engineering processes and procedures

  • High level of numeracy, an ability to apply analytical approaches, and strong problem-solving skills

  • Able to quickly understand complex technical concepts

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


ADDITIONAL

  • The command of a foreign language is always a benefit in a company with global reach, particularly, French, German, Korean

  • Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous
