We are recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Paint Shop Manager to join an automotive business in the Warwickshire area :

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Able to manage and oversee projects coming through the paint shop, and plan capacity
Overseeing the scheduling of all the work through the department
Responsible for the daily performance of the Paint department, ensuring the department is achieving KPIs and managing operational resource correctly
Allocate resource to projects, and recruit, develop, and appraise team members
Manage paint and consumable inventory
Offer technical support on painting, prepping, masking, and de-masking
Communicate with other areas of the business, and management when required
Ensure all staff/contractors have the required skills sets, and experience to undertake their roles, providing the necessary training where appropriate
Ensure all records are kept up to date
Meet with, and liaise with Clients as the point of contact for the Paint department
Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that all personnel are complying to the relevant Health & Safety protocol
Drive continuous improvement throughout the paint department
Ensure all items from the paint department are quality checked prior to dispatch – identify defects and resolve quality issues where possible
Be hands on within the paint department, and support with tasks to ensure projects are on time, cost, and to agreed quality standards
Ensuring costs are controlled effectively, whilst delivering a high level of service
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation
Deal with first line people management issues timely and appropriately
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with paint spraying bespoke and niche vehicles, and carbon (Nice to have – experience and knowledge of colour, and process development)
Knowledge, and experience within the Automotive industry
Experienced in managing projects
Understands all applications and paint specifications.
Safety and workplace awareness
Experience of working within a management or supervisory role
Ability to effectively manage and monitor service level performance using KPIs
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to use MS Office Applications
Has gained practical knowledge and skills related to paint materials, techniques, and shop management.
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) or equivalent
Qualifications in various aspects of paint spraying and management.
Apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing
