The role leads the development and control of key quality deliverables (including MITPs/ITPs, inspection records, material acceptance documentation, O&M manuals and final handover packs), ensuring they are accurate, traceable, correctly controlled and accepted by the client and relevant third parties.
The role also supports project environmental requirements by monitoring and reporting relevant environmental data (including embodied carbon/steel carbon information where required), considering environmental impacts of future site activities, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in line with project objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop, review and maintain Manufacturing Inspection & Test Plans (MITPs/ITPs) aligned to HS2/client specifications, project requirements and supply chain scope, including inspection stages, acceptance criteria, and hold/witness points.
• Coordinate inputs to MITPs/ITPs and quality deliverables from Engineering, Procurement, Production, Inspection/NDT and suppliers; ensure HS2/client requirements are clearly flowed down and evidenced.
• Prepare, check and collate material acceptance documentation (e.g., MTCs, CoCs, traceability records, calibration certificates where required and purchased part certification) ensuring full traceability to drawings, BOMs, purchase orders and installed items.
• Compile and control inspection and test records required by the MITP/ITP (e.g., inspection check sheets, dimensional reports, test certificates, NDT reports where applicable), ensuring they are complete, signed/dated, correctly referenced and retrievable.
• Produce and/or coordinate Operating & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and handover documentation in line with HS2/client format and submission requirements, including collation and review of supplier manuals, spares/parts lists and as-built information.
• Compile, review and issue final handover documentation packs (e.g., MDR/Data Book/QA dossier as required) ensuring correct structure, indexing, revision control and timely submission to achieve client acceptance.
• Manage document control activities for HS2 project deliverables (numbering, transmittals, distribution, comment resolution, revision updates), maintaining clear traceability of client responses, approvals and concessions.
• Support closure of NCRs, defects and punch lists by coordinating objective evidence, updated documentation, and re-submissions as required for final acceptance.
• Support internal, client and third-party audits by preparing documentation, demonstrating compliance to HS2/client requirements and tracking actions through to closure.
• Support project environmental requirements by collecting and reporting environmental data required by the contract (including steel embodied carbon information/EPDs where applicable), maintaining supporting evidence, and ensuring environmental deliverables are integrated into project documentation.
• Proactively identify and support improvements for the HS2 project, including opportunities to reduce waste, improve quality right-first-time, and reduce environmental impacts of upcoming site activities; support implementation and tracking of improvement actions.
