SALARY

ROLE PURPOSE


An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Engineer – GD&T to join our Clients Design department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. Working closely with the Head of Design, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering GD&T best practice within the Design Group and liaising with other Engineering Teams to ensure that business requirements are being met.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Reporting into the Design Group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our GD&T and Tolerance Stack Process and Guidelines.

  • Liaise across Engineering functions and external stakeholders to ensure that all business GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up requirements are being met and correctly recorded.

  • Chair and minute dimensional reviews ensuring GD&T requirements are agreed across engineering functions.

  • Carry out product stack-ups which correctly capture design requirements.

  • Set up and deliver training material to ensure that Design & Engineering Teams understand the correct application and implementation of GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up.

  • Check and correct drawings as part of the sign-off process using Siemens NX, Teamcenter or Adobe.

  • Ensuring cost, manufacturing and quality concerns are addressed within the dimensions and tolerances.

  • Working closely with other departments to ensure cost, manufacturing capability and quality targets are met.

  • Assist in the development of the Design Group through the generation of process controls and guidelines.

  • Responsibilities may include the development, mentoring and guiding of team members as required.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • A relevant engineering degree or be able to show capability by proven experience.

  • Experience in design or manufacturing or be able to show your experience is transferrable.

  • A good understanding of engineering and able to adapt to mechanical, composite and electrical systems as required.

  • Literacy in Siemens NX and Teamcenter, working knowledge of CATIA V5 would be beneficial.

  • Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Work with a level of independence, respond quickly to issues and to maintain departmental standards.
