JOB TITLE
Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilising state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop and prototype transmission, driveline and actuation systems
Helping to combine and develop new techniques and analysis methods for use within the company
Responsible for the delivery of technical work within projects of all sizes, working independently and as part of teams
Applying your existing experience in specifying materials, processes and design applicable for the function of the components
Engineering through design tools, calculations, analysis, simulation, drawings and technical reporting
Managing your own workload and small projects
Undertaking work with a high level of autonomy and communicating effectively throughout the business
Supporting technical capability initiatives within the Mechanical Engineering function
A natural collaborator, able to build and manage effective working relationships with your direct team, colleagues and customers
Taking responsibility for your own continual development
Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and contributing to the team ethic at work
Acting as a role model for company values and professional standards

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline to 2:1 or above OR equivalent demonstrable experience.
Experience of automotive, transmission or precision engineering design or analysis.
An aptitude for solving engineering problems, and experience in finding supporting resources.
Exposure to some of the key software packages within drivetrain engineering (SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, Catia).
Able to follow key engineering processes and procedures.
High level of numeracy, an ability to apply analytical approaches and strong problem solving skills.
Able to quickly understand complex technical concepts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The command of a foreign language is always a benefit in a company with global reach, particularly, French, German, Korean
Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous
