You will be the leader of all site operations and manufacturing processes.
Lead Member of the business/site leadership team/chair site management group.
We are looking for someone that has 10+ years plus in Manufacturing/Operational Leadership in a continuous manufacturing process
List of key responsibilities and detail of function
Lead all aspects of the business and organise the teams in achieving a safe working environment and good financial results.
To manage the planning, coordination and control of all manufacturing and their operational support processes.
To develop and maintain efficient production processes, producing the correct volume at the right cost and level of quality.
Undertake advanced operations planning and support the weekly planning operations to ensure all forward capacity restrictions are highlighted and all operational activities are taken into account.
To be responsible for maintaining and improving all production procedures and processes.
Oversee supply chain management including raw materials, internal material control, processing, finished goods and dispatch to customers.
Responsible for site engineering activities, new projects and processes.
Responsible for all site facilities and security.
Lead by example and promote a continuous improvement culture using Lean and Six Sigma techniques and the business Continuous improvement scheme.
Clear leadership of a strong safety culture based on risk assessment, safe working practices and high standards of compliance.
Oversee holiday planning & authorisation, overtime planning, liaison with labour agencies.
Oversee training priorities and ensure Operational training and development is maintained to meet the business needs.
Work with the Quality Supervisor to continually review and improve quality control procedures.
Attend Health & Safety Meetings as appropriate.
Accountabilities
Provide strong and clear leadership and set the standards to which operational people work.
Ensure the company achieves all KPI’s and plant targets.
The role requirement is to produce reports, status and progress trackers regularly.
Report performance effectively, openly and on time.
Supervising and motivating a team and reviewing ongoing performance.
Ensuring an exceptional level of service, to internal and external customers.
Oversee that safety checks regularly carried out and problems dealt with quickly.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping throughout.
Set targets for the manufacturing team - communicate, monitor and review.
Encourage supervision to set individual targets for teams and employees.
Drive teams to Identify factors limiting production performance and take action to improve or correct them.
Agree and meet target delivery dates for all orders, managing the manufacturing teams, temporary workers and subcontractors in order to meet customer demand in a timely and efficient manner.
Control absence – oversee contact with absentees, return to work interviews, certification and reporting, quarterly review and follow up meetings, warnings, suspensions & disciplinary actions.
Lead on all Operational & Support functions KPIs reporting including P&L and Gross Margin performance.
Performance feedback – regular discussion with individuals on good/poor performance – target setting, training & development needs.
Ensure we have in place skills matrices, job descriptions for all areas, training packs and competency tests, etc.
Lead on Labour Relations and Works Council matters where appropriate.
Identify Investment needs and CAPEX requirements.
Budgeting and Financial Analysis.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers – existing and potential.
Develop a culture of zero scrap and waste, higher outputs and quality, working tidily and safely, regular attendance, assisting colleagues and communicating regularly in the operational workforce on performance and group news.
Quality standards and checking procedures are clear, understood and followed.
Check equipment is available and in good condition.
Oversee sample checking is correctly carried out by the appropriate person.
Ensure production recording is complete, accurate and corrected where necessary, including the recording of downtime and scrap.
Oversee CCs & NCRs – follow up actions required by the manufacturing teams.
Inform all teams to control their working environment and carryout 5’s inspections to keep the standards high.
Oversee safety rules and procedures are followed and take appropriate action as required.
Oversee that all personnel complete safety training, both general and specific.

Qualifications
Graduate, with second business degree preferred.
Expertise
