Role: Scrum Master / Project Engineer
Location: Warwickshire
Rate: £30+ p/h (Outside IR35)
Hours per week: 40
Duration: 6 Months
Role Overview
The Scrum Master / Project Engineer will act as both the agile delivery facilitator and technical integrator across cross-functional BMS squads. You’ll champion agile best practices while steering project execution and integration milestones involving control systems, embedded software, and hardware such as SDU Controls, CSC modules, and WGM platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Planning
Lead agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Coach the squad on agile principles and foster continuous delivery culture
Maintain healthy backlogs in collaboration with Product Owners and technical leads
Project Engineering & Delivery Tracking
Monitor engineering tasks, hardware dependencies, and test execution across BMS domains
Track milestone progress, change requests, and resource coordination
Support interface documentation, configuration control, and defect triage
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as point-of-contact for program-level planning and cross-squad alignment
Support integration of SDU, CSC, and WGM hardware/software within release cycles
Escalate blockers, manage risk registers, and help resolve engineering bottlenecks
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimisation
Analyse delivery metrics, cycle time, and sprint velocity to refine workflows
Identify process gaps and propose tooling or communication enhancements
Maintain alignment with quality standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262) and program governance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in project engineering and agile delivery within embedded systems or BMS
Certified Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent) or proven agile team leadership
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and version-controlled engineering deliverables
Understanding of control hardware/software integration and BMS platform architecture
Preferred Attributes
Experience coordinating across hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software validation, and system integration teams
Background in battery technology, energy storage systems, or high-voltage safety systems
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in complex technical programs
Ability to balance short-term delivery targets with long-term technical integrity
