SYSTEM ENGINEER (POWERTRAIN)

Role:  System Engineer - Powertrain

Location:  Warwickshire

Rate:  £30+ p/h (Outside IR35)

Hours per week:  40

Duration: 6 Months +

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Proactively understand customer needs and requirements

• Functional requirements decomposition (all Powertrain systems) including arbitration between core systems and subsystems

• Evaluate multiple system concepts, to determine strategic direction of the Powertrain

• Initial system design specification; prepare system specifications and functional designs, and demonstrate how they satisfy customer needs

• System integration; define logical and physical architecture, and operating logic

• Concept verification; define and champion virtual verification activities, including results evaluation and dissemination to the wider business stakeholders with effective use of available toolsets

• Lead resolution of complex multi-system issues

• Timely delivery of short-duration concept study items with high quality and coherent conclusions to support business strategic decision making

• Support or lead development of the Propulsion System Strategy

Experience Required

• Relevant experience of working in powertrain systems engineering

• Experience of system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, CAE, hardware integration

• Excellent verbal and written communication including presenting complex topics to a diverse stakeholder set (engineering and non-engineering)

• Be technically curious, with a strong analytical approach

• Have a track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills

• Growth mindset and willingness to learn new subjects and connect things back to the bigger business picture
